Each applicant to the Master of Science (MS) program is evaluated holistically by their chosen program’s Admissions Committee. Committee member carefully consider each required element of the application package including telephone interview, science course GPA, cumulative GPA, letters of recommendation and standardized test scores.
A typical applicant accepted to the LMU MS program meets or exceeds the following criteria:
MCAT 2015 score of 492 and above
GRE score of 292 and above with a writing score of 3.5 and above
DAT score of 17 and above
Scores from the Optometry Admission Test (OAT) and the Pharmacy College Admission Test (PCAT) will also be considered.
Grade Point Average(s)
Science course GPA > 3.0
Cumulative GPA > 3.0
Evidence of a trajectory of improved academic performance, especially in science course work
If English is not the applicant’s native language, the international student must submit her/his official score report from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). This score will also be considered holistically along with the other elements of the application package. The applicant must also display proficiency in spoken English during the telephone interview.
Letters of Evaluation
Biomedical Professions, Anatomical Sciences, Life Science Research, Veterinary Biomedical Science:
Two letters of evaluation from the applicant’s instructors or one committee letter from a health professions advisory committee. At least one letter must be from a natural science instructor.
The personal statement should professionally articulate how the MS program will benefit your educational and career goals. No minimum or maximum limits are enforced with the personal statement.
The deadline to apply for Fall 2018 is June 15th.
